Wilson, NC, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (NCVMA) has announced it has awarded a $2,500 Animal Welfare Grant to Wilson County Animal Shelter in Wilson. Animal Welfare Grants are given to public and private shelters needing financial assistance for supplies or improvements to animal housing facilities. In 2014, NCVMA has granted more than $7,500 to North Carolina shelters.

Wilson County Animal Shelter partners with Shelter Exchange, a non-profit organization that utilizes a software application to aid in community outreach. They aim to save animals from euthanasia and have a special focus on animals with medical, behavioral, or special needs.
