Attorney Elisabeth DeWitt Presiding Judge for the 2014 Earle Zehmer Mock Trial Competition
Bradenton, FL, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Personal injury and civil trial attorney Elisabeth A. DeWitt of Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh volunteered as the presiding judge for the 2014 E. Earle Zehmer Mock Trial Competition.
The 2014 E. Earle Zehmer Mock Trial Competition was held at the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse in Tampa, FL on November 8th & 9th.
The mock trial competition is designed to test the courtroom abilities of the next generation of lawyers currently attending schools all around Florida.
Hosted by the Florida Justice Association (FJA), FJA Research & Education Foundation, and the FJA Young Lawyers Section, the event drew 14 teams from law schools across the state competing in mock trials for the title of top team with the winning team from Stetson Law School.
Attorney Beth DeWitt had this comment about volunteering as the presiding judge, “To be able to participate in the development of the next generation of trial attorneys in Florida is a great honor. As someone who works daily to protect the rights of the injured in cases of negligence I see first hand how important a strong civil justice system is to Florida and the country. The mock trial competition is a great way to further introduce students to the rigors of courtroom battles that can be a part of contentious legal cases with important outcomes.”

Ms. DeWitt attained her law degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, May of 2009. After graduate school, Ms. DeWitt was admitted to the Florida Bar Association September 27, 2010.
