Houston Runs to Help Kids with Brain Tumors

Asheville, NC, November 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Starry Night, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s new walk/run that shines a light on children with brain tumors, raised nearly $15,000 in Houston on Nov. 15.

The 8.5K event at Discovery Green honored local children with brain tumors. These Stars were Mandy, Taylor, Tobin and Trent.

Close to 200 participants lit lanterns at the end of the evening event to honor children affected by a brain tumor diagnosis, including those who are no longer with us.

Hometown celebrity Jake Worthington, a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, entertained the crowd and met with the Stars and their families.

A portion of Starry Night Houston’s proceeds will be donated to Texas Children’s Hospital. The Starry Night Hero Award went to Addi’s Faith Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for pediatric brain tumor research and providing financial assistance to families struggling to care for a child with cancer.

The event is still collecting donations online at www.mystarrynight.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through Dec. 15.
