AFG Group, Inc. announced today that the company has been recognized with a national Project Achievement Award by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) at the recent CMAA National Conference held in San Francisco, California.
Herndon, VA, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- AFG Group, Inc., a leading woman-owned construction management firm, has been recognized with a national Project Achievement Award by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA). AFG was awarded for the impact and unique value achieved as a result of the firm’s construction management on the $13.6M Underground Steam Line & Condensate Replacement Project.
The project replaced 11,000 LF of 40-60 year old steam lines that serviced 21 Federal buildings throughout Washington DC. As Construction Manager, AFG undertook this 5-year effort involving 36 Federal and local agencies requiring preservation of nearby historic buildings during excavation, demolition, installation of new pre-engineered steam and condensate piping, alignment, welding, and soil back fill and cover.
The project was completed below budget and 93 days ahead of the approved schedule, with no OSHA recordable accidents. AFG’s winning submission was categorized for infrastructure projects valued over $10 million but less than $30 million.
Cheryl K. O’Connor, AFG Chairman and CEO stated, “AFG is proud of our 25 year heritage of successful GSA projects. We are honored to be recognized by our professional peers and are very proud of our project team. And we are grateful to GSA for their continued trust in providing us with the opportunity to successfully deliver their projects.”
