Jimmy Osmond's New Book Challenges Kids to Discover Their Talents

Music icon Jimmy Osmond pens lively children’s book that draws on his personal story to encourage children to find their special talent—and use it.

Washington, DC, November 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Possum Number One plays the saxophone. Number Two plays the piano. But Number Nine can’t seem to figure out what talent he can bring to the Awesome Possum Family Band’s big TV debut.

In his fun new children’s book, "Awesome Possum Family Band" (Regnery Kids; On sale June 2, 2014; $16.99), world famous recording artist and performer Jimmy Osmond shares his personal quest of finding his special place in his family’s band The Osmonds.

Jimmy’s character, Possum Number Nine, sets off to discover his special musical talent when the Awesome Possum Family Band receives an invitation to make their big showbiz break on TV. Possum Number Nine uncovers many talents he doesn’t have before discovering his own. With love and patience, Mother Possum encourages Number Nine to dig deep within himself and “practice, practice practice” to find what he truly loves and make his dream come true.

This delightful book will endear itself to both children and adults with its colorful illustrations, charming, lovable characters, and inspiring personal journey. It is written at a guided reading level of K (for 2nd grade readers) and teaches kids the importance of determination and following their dreams.

Jimmy Osmond and Regnery Publishing are partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network in launching Awesome Possum Family Band. For every book sold, Regnery Publishing will donate a book to a Children’s Miracle Network hospital library. The Osmond Family was one of the founders of Children’s Miracle Network in 1983, and Jimmy is a sitting member on the Board of Directors.
