Soul Food Reaches the Parts Bling Cannot Reach

UK Gospel Choir, IDMC celebrate 13 years together on 1-12-2007, with a live recording and exhibition in London's Dominion Centre. Performing songs from their back catalogue and new project, Soul Food.

London, United Kingdom, November 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- IDMC celebrate 13 years together as London’s premier Urban Gospel collective and will mark their coming of age in the UK and Global Gospel Music industry by staging a Live Concert Recording, “IDMC Live & Phaat Vol II”, and Exhibition, on Saturday 1st December 2007 at the Dominion Centre in London, N22 6DS beginning with a drinks reception at 6:15pm.

The night promises to be a spectacular one, with guest artists, an exhibition charting the changes and growth of this group over the past 13 years, plus a re-union choir that includes present and past members of the group. Founder and Director of the group, John Fisher, also plans to introduce new material from IDMC’s pending new album Soul Food, due for release early in 2008.

Fisher said, “We want everyone to come and celebrate with us. This is not just another concert. We want to say thank you to all the people who have supported us in our work over the past 13 years. We want to recognise the pioneers who wrote for us, played and sang with us, as well as those who have played a part by supporting the members of their family who put in so much hard work to make IDMC a success.”

IDMC began with members drawn primarily from traditional African-Caribbean churches based within deprived urban areas of South London. Over the years the membership has become more diverse, reflecting more and more London’s multi-cultural communities. As such, the group presents a strong alternative image to young Londoners. The exhibition and show not only aim to tell the story of IDMC through the past 13 years, but also to show that despite the odds, despite the situations that may be around you, it is possible to elevate yourself through creativity and hard work and perform on the World stage.

IDMC is a group of dedicated gospel singers who have been performing all over the UK, Europe and the Caribbean. They performed for the late Luciano Pavarotti at his 2003 wedding, and received international plaudits and unprecedented column inches in local and national press for their performances at the 2006 Barbados Gospel Fest, an international Gospel Festival held each Spring. Soul Food will be their seventh independent release to date.
