Wildcat Apparel Welcomes KY’s Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson for an Autograph Signing on 12th Dec, 2014
Wildcat Apparel is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Meet and Greet and an Autograph Session with Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson of the 1996 championship Kentucky basketball team.
Nicholasville, KY, November 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Wildcat Apparel is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Meet and Greet and an Autograph Session with Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson of the 1996 championship Kentucky basketball team.
Also called Thunder and Lightning, both Derek and Ron achieved fame for their hellacious dunks and super fast speed that left all the other players in their dust. No one knows for sure which one of them is thunder and who is the lightning, but together they became a part of an invincible team that made Kentucky very proud.
Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson were also sometimes called the "Air Pair" by UK Basketball fans. They came to the forefront as members of the 1996 National Championship team at the University of Kentucky. However, they didn’t just stop there.
Ron Mercer was twice named Mr. Basketball in the state of Tennessee won a NCAA Championship his freshman year at University of Kentucky. He averaged 15 pts per game his Rookie season with the Boston Celtics, and was named to the All-Rooke 1st team.
Derek Anderson on the other hand spent his first season with the Wildcats on the sidelines. However, that only served as fuel to the fire, as his games next season led WildCats from one victory to another. Derek Anderson became an NCAA and NBA champion with an average of 12.0 points and 3.4 assists throughout his 11 seasons with Cleveland, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio, Portland, Houston, Miami and Charlotte.
Attendees of the Autograph Session will have the opportunity to shake hands with legends Derek and Ron. The two will be present at the local WildCat Apparel store from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Autograph Session is an open to the public event, and admission can be secured with tickets that will soon be available at the Wildat Apparel website at www.wildcatsportsapparel.com. The event will be held at the Wildcat Apparel store, located at 948 south Main Street in Nicholasville, KY located across from the Kroger. The Dec 12th promises to be the start of a weekend filled with excitement for NBA, basketball and ‘thunder and lightning’ fans from across the city.
“We are looking forward to the Autograph Session. It is in fact an amazing opportunity for fans and our NBA stars to connect and share the gratitude and sheer appreciation that have for basketball, and also for one another,” stated Wasfi Samaan, promoter for the event and owner of Wildcat Apparel and JD Legends Entertainment Complex.
