San Diego Writers, Ink Celebrates 10 Years as a Non-Profit Joining with Other Writer Groups for a Holiday Celebration December 5 from 5-8 P.M.
San Diego, CA, November 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- In celebration of ten years as a hub for the writing community, this December 5th from 5 to 8 pm., San Diego Writers, Ink (SDWI) will gather with other San Diego writing groups, writers, readers and NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) writers to celebrate the holidays. All guests are welcome for networking, food and drinks. San Diego has a plethora of literary groups. Some of the ones converging with SDWI for the party will be the following.
Adventures by the Book
Adventures by the Book’s mission is to offer worldwide opportunities for readers to connect with authors and their books through unique, interesting, and adventurous events and travels. Adventure’s other program is AuthorPreneurs dedicated to assisting writers to connect with their entrepreneurial spirit through networking, education, philanthropy, exposure, and support services.
Playwrights Project is a nonprofit theatre education organization founded in 1985 to advance literacy, creativity and communication by empowering individuals to voice their stories through playwriting programs and theatre productions. Playwrights Project partners with San Diego Writers Ink in offering its Lifestages Recollections, playwriting program for adults ages 55 and up. In addition to seniors, programs serve schools, disenfranchised communities, aspiring student playwrights, adult playwrights, and the general public with readings and professional productions.
Publishers and Writers of San Diego (PWSD) is a nonprofit trade organization focusing on the business of publishing. Their mission is to help independent publishers and authors understand the many facets of the industry and publish as successfully as possible. They emphasize upholding professional standards, regardless of how a work is brought to market, and learning together about the constantly changing business of writing and publishing.
Revisionistas is an advanced group of strong writers working on a variety of novel manuscripts. You can find out more on their website, revisionistas.org.
San Diego Christian Writers’ Guild-SDCWG produces an annual writers’ conference and has critique groups throughout San Diego.
Write Out Loud
Write Out Loud reads literature aloud for a live audience. Their regular season of programs takes place at Old Town Theatre in Old Town but they also perform at a number of other theatres throughout the year, in addition to bringing free programming to the classroom with their StoryBox Theatre and other projects. TwainFest, their annual free event in Old Town, combines performances of 19th century literature with old-fashioned activities and free books. www.writeoutloudsd.com
