"How to Quit Golf: A 12-Step Program" by Award-Winning Golf Columnist Now Available as an eBook
Originally published in 2001, Craig Brass’ humorous look at golf and those who play the game joins the digital world.
New York, NY, December 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Craig Brass, represented by Levine Greenberg Rostan Literary Agency, and Vook, are launching an ebook version of "How to Quit Golf: A 12-Step Program," a thousands-selling look at golf that has previously only been available in print. Brass, winner of the International Network of Golf Outstanding Achievement Award, writes a hilarious account of the maddeningly addictive sport. Since its publication in 2001, this unique perspective on golf and all of its idiosyncrasies has only been available in print — today’s release allows more golfers to enjoy what Sport Detroit calls, “a tongue-in-cheek take on guiding the self-hating golfer back to sanity.”
“When the chance to publish digitally came about the decision to do so was easy. It provides me an opportunity to re-energize the book via the most current distribution system,” says Brass. “The concept and content are still valid — poking fun at a game that inherently fosters a love/hate relationship with everyone who plays is timeless.”
The book uses the structure of a 12-step program to comically describe the stages of frustration that come hand in hand with the game of golf. All golfers know they don't need to play golf. The problem is they don't know how to quit. Golf has a beginning, a middle, but no end. The game has no exit strategy. Every time you even think of quitting, golf entices you back with a 250-yard drive down the middle, an unfathomable recovery shot to the green, or a birdie on the hardest hole.
Including an introduction by actor Jeff Daniels, also an avid golfer, Brass’ guide takes an original approach to the sport that any golf addict can relate to.
“I was having lunch with Jeff Daniels, a friend and golfing buddy, who asked me a strange, yet ponderous question, ‘Do you still love golf?’ I thought about that for a moment and said something along the lines of, ‘I’m not sure, but I certainly don’t know how to quit,’” says Brass about the conception of the book.
"How to Quit Golf: A 12-Step Program" is currently available for purchase for $3.99 on all major digital retailers.
