Leading Names Take Control on First Day of Play at 2014 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams

Wilson, NC, December 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The top 4 teams easily maintained their form on the first day of play at the 2014 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams event. In Division A, hometown favorites and top seeds “SBTTC” (South Bend Table Tennis Club), comprising of tournament director/coach Danny Seemiller Sr. (2499), his son Dan Seemiller Jr (2206) and student Joey Cochran (2424) held onto their top spot by beating 3 teams on the first day of play. Team “Lindenwood,” consisting of brother duo Micaiah (2270) and Gabriel Skolnick (2353) and friend Felipe Morita (2392) also maintained top form by getting through 2 teams with ease. “Toronto Stars,” a young Canadian team, also stayed on top by taking out Chicago team “The Junkies” and Indiana team “Indiana Spin.” Lastly, Team “Spin, Smash, Win” did just that and came out on top against its two opponents. With 8 teams in Division A, the top prize of $1,500 is still up for grabs, but it looks like these 4 leading teams are favored to take home a piece of the prize money when matches come to a close on Saturday afternoon.

Matches continue at the 2014 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams event Saturday morning at 9 a.m. CST with continued divisional play. Exciting matches will take place as the top 4 teams (and maybe others) will compete head to head for prize money. In Division B, young and old alike will vie for beautiful trophies to show off their hard work over the Thanksgiving weekend holiday.
