Top Seeds Prevail to Clinch Championship Prizes at 2014 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams

Wilson, NC, December 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- In Division A at the 2014 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams Championship, top seeds maintained form to take championship prizes. Top seeded “SBTTC” (South Bend Table Tennis Club), comprising of tournament director/coach Danny Seemiller Sr. (2499), his son Dan Seemiller Jr (2206) and student Joey Cochran (2424) narrowly beat second seeded team “Lindenwood” (Micaiah (2270) and Gabriel Skolnick (2353), Felipe Morita (2392)) in a close 5-3 match faceoff to take the $1,500 top prize. The Lindenwood University friends will return to Missouri with $1,000 in prize money, not a bad reward for a weekend of table tennis. Third seeded team “Toronto Stars” from Canada maintained their seeding and walked away with $500 in prize money. Ultimately, all eight teams in Division A finished exactly as they were ranked, with the only major struggles occurring between team “Lindenwood” and team “Toronto Stars” and between team “TT Minnesota” and “Dark Horse.” On each occasion, the higher ranked team pulled out a tight 5-4 win to stay on top.

In Division B, the top 3 seeded teams also finished in the top 3, but 3rd seeded Midwest junior team of Jordan Sun (1799), David Perrine (1930) and Sonjay Henry (1761), also known as “Team United” upset second seeded team “Spinjas” to finish in second place. Team “Michigan Table Tennis” duly took top prize in Division B, as they avenged their preliminary loss on day 1, which put them in the second division.
