“Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” three-part miniseries presented by Nissan, aired on consecutive Fridays, November 21, 28 and will conclude with the Big Reveal on December 5, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime. The series is hosted by “The Gunny”, R. Lee Ermey.
Bruce Fairchild, vice president of Product Marketing for Haier America, joined the “Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” series to help the Lunt family to offer tips on selecting the right TV for the right room, ideal lighting and distance from seat to screen, as well as providing a TV to the family.
Fairchild was on location for the series, which shows the step-by-step makeover of a Summerville S.C. townhouse for the family of a young wounded veteran, Stephen Lunt, who sacrificed for our country. While in Afghanistan, Lunt was forced to fight an insurgent in hand-to-hand combat, resulting in injuries, surgeries, and a long and painful recovery.
Viewers will need to tune-in to hear his inspiring full story.
Fairchild will explain the difference between LED and plasma TV screens, Edge-lit and Direct-lit, and the features and specs for the 55” 1080p, 120Hz LED TV model selected for the Lunt family.
Host R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny”, is a retired United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and Drill Instructor and is best known for his TV and Movie career which has spanned over three decades, including his break-out role as the tough drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.
Designing Spaces along with their valued partners like Haier will take viewers along the journey to see how the townhouse, provided mortgage-free by Operation Homefront, is transformed into a more comfortable home for the Lunt family. Through its Homes on the Homefront program, Operation Homefront – with the help of its corporate partners – awards mortgage-free homes to veterans of any era, helping bring the American dream of home ownership to those who have sacrificed so much for their country.
