Perle TruePort Software Awarded Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Certification
Perle IOLAN Terminal Servers provide true virtual serial ports over Ethernet in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 environments.
Nashville, TN, December 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Perle Systems, a manufacturer of advanced serial to Ethernet and secure device networking solutions announces Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 certification for TruePort software. The Perle TruePort utility provides true remote serial ports over an Ethernet LAN. It makes remote ports operate as if they are directly connected COM or TTY ports to an application.
"Perle Systems leads the serial device connectivity industry when it comes to support for the widest range of operating systems," comments John Feeney, Chief Operating Officer at Perle Systems. "The addition of Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 certification continues the commitment to our customer base and the serial to Ethernet technology sector."
A series of rigorous test must be passed before Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Certification will be granted. Only a product or solution that has met the stringent reliability and technical excellence criteria set out by Microsoft will be issued with digitally signed drivers. The Perle TruePort COM port re-director utility has obtained digitally signed 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 R2 drivers.
Perle TruePort is a COM port re-director driver utility that is installed on the application server. All COM port directed data sent by the application is re-directed by TruePort across the IP/Ethernet network to remote Perle Terminal Servers or I/O Device Servers which have targeted serial devices connected to them. Data and serial port signalling is transparently communicated between the application and remote device. Perle TruePort is included with the purchase of every IOLAN Terminal Server, Device Server or Console Server.
