Phenomenal will feature content not only related to the African decedents culture, but will embark on topics that are geared toward all matters of the heart. Phenomenal Mag is spearheaded by Executive Editor-in-Chief Deidre' LaShon.
The word “phenomenal” says it all: unusually rare, extraordinary, and unparalleled – all of the qualities a woman possesses. Phenomenal Mag was created to build up "Phenomenal Black Beauties", giving them a voice and empowering them to capitalize on every opportunity that comes their way.
Executive Editor-in-Chief Deidre' LaShon shared her thoughts on what Phenomenal Mag means to her: "When trying to come up with a name for the digital publication, there was one word that stood out amongst the rest. Phenomenal Mag reflects the meaning behind the poem “Phenomenal Woman,” written by Maya Angelou, which they believe offers the perfect blueprint for why every woman should feel beautiful and assertive. Beauty isn't defined by industry standards or based on model characteristics, but by how a woman feels on the inside and how it permeates to the outside. A Phenomenal woman exudes confidence, carries herself well, and has the unprecedented ability to inspire others to do the same.
