Frisco, TX, December 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- BJ Bliffert, Owner and Founder of Full Throttle Athletics returned to Frisco, Texas last week from his overseas journey to Hamburg, Germany, where he competed on the biggest professional stage within Girevoy Sport (Russian kettlebell lifting).

Only a few months ago, Bliffert placed first in his division and discipline (long cycle) at the IUKL USA National Championships in New York, earning him a hard-earned invitation to compete at the 2014 World Championships on Team USA. To qualify for this coveted spot on Team USA, Bliffert cranked out an impressive 60 repetitions with two 24-kilogram bells (105.6 pounds) over the course of 10 minutes, without setting down the weight.

The 2014 World Championships experience over 500 competitors, representing 30 countries across the globe. This was the largest World Championship in the history of the event. On this international stage, Bliffert completed 57 repetitions within the allotted time of 10 minutes (long cycle event with two 24-kilogram kettlebells). Team USA soared into a 5th place finish out of 57 national teams. Professional Russian lifters also set multiple impressive world records.

“Competing alongside so many world-renowned lifters of the sport was an incredible experience,” stated Bliffert. “It was such an honor to represent my country on Team USA. All of the years of training in this sport led to that competition set at the World Championships—I can’t think of a better reward and I look forward to improving my performance at future events," continued Bliffert. "The World Championships really demonstrated how Americans are growing into the sport at a rapid pace. I can’t wait to implement within my own kettlebell club what I have learned at this international event.”

Bliffert’s competition experience and progressive victories in the sport will, undoubtedly, continue to attract more competition-hungry folks in the Frisco area that are unafraid to dive into an unfamiliar sporting realm.

"In fact, for those that are interested, we (Full Throttle Athletics) will be hosting our second annual kettlebell competition on Dec. 13th: The North Texas Kettlebell Open Championship," exclaimed Bliffert. "If you’ve never witnessed the sport live, this would be your opportunity to come watch some awesome lifters [both seasoned and novice] battle against the clock.”
