The Musical EDGES to be Presented as a Year End Benefit for Slow Burn Theatre Company and West Boca High Drama Department
Slow Burn Theatre will present EDGES, a musical, for a special two-night run December 18 & 19, 2014 as a joint fundraiser with the West Boca Drama Department.
Boca Raton, FL, December 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- One show into their sixth season, and last at West Boca High, Slow Burn Theatre will present EDGES, a musical, for a special two-night run December 18 & 19, 2014 as a joint fundraiser with the West Boca Drama Department.
“We’ve always been grateful to West Boca for taking a chance on us way back when and giving us a start,” said Matthew Korinko, Executive Director of Slow Burn Theatre Company. “And though it’s a collective effort between both of us with every show we do, we thought it would be great to end this year with an event that can benefit us both.”
Written by the award-winning Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, EDGES is hilarious, moving, endlessly relatable and will be an unmissable and fantastic evening of theatre for all to enjoy. This contemporary song cycle explores the questions four young adults face as they come of age and seek simple truths in a complex world. Find out just how many other people also spend Friday nights at home on Facebook or what to do when your boyfriend likes theatre and flower arranging a little bit too much.
With wit and charm, the musical vignettes follow them on a journey of confronting emotions, escaping expectation and deciphering complicated relationships.
The cast of EDGES includes: Abby Perkins, Nicole Piro, Carbonell Award nominee Bruno Vida, and Alexander Zenoz. It will be directed by Carbonell and Silver Palm Award winner Patrick Fitzwater with Musical Direction by Carbonell Award Winner Eric Alsford.
Slow Burn Theatre is an award winning locally based professional theatre group providing the South Florida community the opportunity to see daring, contemporary and intelligent works of musical theater.
EDGES will run for only two performances – Thursday and Friday December 18 & 19, 2014 at 8 PM at the West Boca Performing Arts Theater on the campus of West Boca Raton High School on Glades Road.
Tickets are $20 and are available at the door each night, at slowburntheatre.org, or by calling 866-811-4111.
