Announcing the Fourth Annual Healthcare Information Security Today Survey
Princeton, NJ, December 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Information Security Media Group (ISMG), publisher of HealthcareInfoSecurity, announces its fourth annual Healthcare Information Security Today survey.
The survey, sponsored by Caradigm, (ISC)² and ZixCorp, measures progress toward ensuring the privacy and security of healthcare information, especially as the cyberthreats facing healthcare providers evolve.
This web-based research study was created by ISMG with the counsel of top healthcare and security experts. The survey explores how information security leaders are taking steps to respond to today's key challenges.
The survey will:
Examine current and emerging cyberthreats facing healthcare providers in 2015;
Assess the evolving state of information security at U.S. healthcare organizations;
Showcase the steps security leaders are taking to prevent breaches, protect electronic patient information and address the risks posed by mobile devices;
Analyze breach patterns experienced by healthcare providers and their business associates in 2014;
Project the emerging technologies and strategies where healthcare organizations are investing their resources;
Review the state of information security at hospitals, clinics, health plans and integrated delivery systems to determine strengths and weaknesses.
The annual Healthcare Information Security Today survey gives healthcare information security professionals and other senior executives insights that they can track and measure over time. Last year's survey results showed, for example:
Complying with the HIPAA Omnibus Rule was creating serious challenges.
More healthcare organizations were conducting risk assessments than in previous years, but many were still struggling with the assessments.
Many healthcare entities still had room for improvement in implementing encryption.
Top priorities for 2014 included improving regulatory compliance, boosting security education and preventing and detecting breaches.
The survey is now available online: http://www.healthcareinfosecurity.com/surveys/whats-state-health-information-security-s-32. Results will be presented in a variety of ways on HealthcareInfoSecurity.com, including an in-depth report, expert interviews and a webinar featuring exclusive insight and analysis.
