Baptist Health to Start Providing Patients with Upfront Estimates
Charlotte, NC, December 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Baptist Health selected PMMC, a leading provider of revenue cycle management solutions, for its estimation solution that will create accurate estimates for their patients with an upfront summary of their financial responsibility.
Baptist Health is the leading healthcare provider in central Alabama with three hospitals and 789 beds. The health system will use PMMC ESTIMATOR PRO to generate their estimates from existing 835 and 837 claim data already stored within PMMC CONTRACT PRO, a robust contract management solution. The new estimation solution is scheduled to go live in January 2015.
Jeri Pack, Director of Revenue Management at Baptist Health, has consulted with over 20 hospitals and healthcare systems and is confident this is a key step toward greater price transparency.

Baptist Health already had a system in place to verify eligibility for insured patients through Clearwave, a kiosk-based solution that allows hospital staff to begin the financial assessment of each individual patient before services are rendered. PMMC ESTIMATOR PRO will seamlessly integrate with Clearwave’s eligibility capability to provide a true patient estimate.
