Jersey City, NJ, December 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- First-time director, Anthony Malachi, is slated to release his highly anticipated independent urban film, “Interrogation Room 109,” set in his hometown of Jersey City, NJ. Malachi also wrote and stars in the film which was inspired by his own former involvement in the streets.
The urban flick follows a local drug dealer, Slice, determined to win back his beloved ex-girlfriend, Sharon. However, Sharon’s new love, G-low, (played by Malachi) stands firmly in his way. Thus Slice plots a devious scheme, complete with crooked cops, drugs, set-ups, murder, and blackmail to ensure his rival goes down, and stays down.
Director Malachi comments, “I wrote 109 because there are a lot people who are living beyond their means and they end up putting themselves in extreme situations just to keep up with the Jones’. This movie is meant to show that you shouldn’t get involved with certain people and activities just to impress someone. Image isn’t important at the end of the day. Your life is what’s important.”
The movie was shot and edited by Safiyah Smith and stars Lance Booth, as Slice, the sinister protagonist, Claude Joseph, Joffrey “Crash” Gant, Michael Royes, Mohammad Kamara, CiCi Steed, Juan M. Montaño, Vern Wilson, Reco Alford, and Rochelle Walker. The film also features Joey Grant, and Gil Gilead as the crooked officers, Jillian Goytia as Slice’s current lady, and model/actress Tayo Oredein as Sharon.
The film has already garnered some attention from some of black Hollywood’s most elite actors. Interrogation Room 109 will be screened across the state of New Jersey, and is set to premier fittingly on January 9th (1/09) in 2015.
"Interrogation Room 109" was produced by O-Park Productionz.
