Saint-Gobain Seals Releases New OmniSeal® Spring-Energized Seals and Meldin® HT Thermoplastic Materials Product Handbooks
Saint-Gobain Seals releases two new product handbooks: OmniSeal® spring-energized seals (US or EU) and Meldin® HT thermoplastic materials.
Garden Grove, CA, December 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Saint-Gobain Seals releases two new product handbooks: OmniSeal® spring-energized seals (US or EU) and Meldin® HT thermoplastic materials, which have been formatted and designed for engineering, procurement, sales and management to easily identify sealing and polymer solutions in one document. The product handbooks have been redesigned to enhance user interface:
1. Global core competencies/capabilities such as design engineering; research, testing and quality assurance; and manufacturing expertise.
2. Historical significance and longevity of Saint-Gobain Seals.
3. Detailed technical information on seal design and material properties.
4. Compliance, regulatory and qualification standard information for materials, sites and markets.
5. Applied and successful applications in key markets.
6. Special designs, which emphasizes the group’s engineer-to-engineer collaboration and custom solutions.
Saint-Gobain Seals’ comprehensive OmniSeal® product handbook was first given out to attendees at Valve World 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany, where their new, single-stem sealing solution reducing fugitive emissions was officially launched for the oil & gas market. The Meldin® HT product handbook was given out at CTI Symposium in Berlin, Germany, where Saint-Gobain Performance L+S GmbH exhibited their automotive solutions (seal rings, thrust washers and bearings) for transmissions. The release of the Meldin® HT product handbook was timely as L+S’ injection molded products were formally integrated into the new Meldin® 4000 series and included in the handbook.
“Due to our many years of collaboration with industry leaders, we have been able to provide a wide range of technical expertise to our customers, and having these new product handbooks will assist in sharing this knowledge on a more global and consistent basis,” said Rebecca Phan, Marketing Communications Coordinator of Saint-Gobain Seals. “The handbooks will continue to be a living document that we can update and improve as our customers’ needs grow and their applications become more demanding.”
A global team consisting of product managers, market managers, R&D engineers, design and application engineers and marketing communications contributed to the handbooks; the handbooks are offered in a metric and inch measurement with part numbers and sizes that are geared to the appropriate regions. The process took about a year to develop due to extensive global collaboration in order to gather customized illustrations, charts, tables and case studies.
Frederic Laniel, Global Marketing Director of Saint-Gobain Seals, said, “These handbooks provide an excellent view of the global expertise that we have been able to develop through the years on technically challenging markets, and what we are using and continue to develop in terms of simulation techniques for the future (FEA, applications testing, etc.).”
As part of Saint-Gobain Group, which celebrates its 350th Anniversary next year, Saint-Gobain Seals has been providing sealing and polymer solutions in critical applications such as commercial jet engines and space launch vehicles in the aerospace market; valves for LNG, subsea and floating production in the oil & gas market; and emission control and transmissions in the automotive market. Their diverse product portfolio of spring-energized and lip seals (OmniSeal® and OmniLip®) and polymer materials (Meldin® 7000, Meldin® HT and Rulon®) allow the business unit to support an entire system.
