Avondale Estates, GA, November 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Local Avondale Estates resident, Mary Kay Andrews, will showcase her incredible restored 1926 craftsman bungalow on the Avondale Estates Christmas Tour of Homes December 9th. Best known for her southern trilogy of Savannah Blues, Savannah Breeze and Blue Christmas. Andrews has just re-released her best selling novel Blue Christmas with added original material and an updated fresh jacket cover. Andrews has always had a love for interior design. A self-proclaimed antique picker, Andrews' home has a bevy of antiques, heirlooms, and treasures from her numerous years of collecting. Her flair for design is apparent in every corner of every room.

Andrews' bungalow will be one of seven beautifully decorated homes for the 15th annual tour that begins at the historic Avondale Community Club located on Avondale Lake. Here you will pick up your tour tickets and find the free Holiday Market taking place with an exciting line-up of over 25 popular vendors offering the must-haves in fashion, holiday décor, food and kids’ stuff: playful one-of-a-kind sassy hoop skirts sought after by all little girls by designer Bold Mary; classic and sophisticated totes, skirts and handbags by popular designer Lynn Morgan of Sage Saks; vintage inspired posters and prints of popular Atlanta landmarks by designer Thomas Burns of Atlanta Vintage Travel; stunning all occasion stationary just in time for the holidays by Decatur Paper; a special guest appearance and book signing by Mary Kay Andrews and much more.

Once your holiday shopping is done, begin the Avondale Tour of restored and renovated homes that continue to preserve the character of historic Avondale Estates. This year’s tour spans over 100 years with a restored 1900 farm house built by John S. Candler, founder of the Coca Cola Company, two Avondale “originals” from when the city was established in 1926, two homes from the 40’s/50’s that have been expanded upward and outward, and one new “vintage” craftsman style bungalow built on the lake in 2006. Mark your calendars for December 9th and make a date to tour Mary Kay Andrews' home or better yet meet her at the club for her Holiday Market book signing.
