Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Amy Otey Returns to Her Roots
Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Amy Otey releases a six-track Country/Americana album called "Lights Are Always On in Nashville."
Ewing, NJ, January 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- “There is power in music,” is what singer/songwriter Amy Otey has said about music for the past 15 years while she developed and performed her ‘Fitness Rock & Roll’ shows as ‘Miss Amy’ at prestigious events such as the Kimmel Center For the Performing Arts and the White House Egg Roll. Grammy® Nominated for her interactive family album and her music being included on a Grammy® Winning album about bullying, Amy Otey has made her mark in the music business, though her latest project is a departure from those previous successes.
“I’m returning to my roots in my latest work,” says the South Carolina born long- time resident of Lenexa Kansas who met her husband in Dallas, Texas, and then moved to New Jersey. “My past 18 years have centered around the health and wellness of my family while wanting to also pass along my fitness music concepts to others. And, now with my first son going to college I wanted to make music that takes me back to the kind I grew-up with, such as songs by Loretta Lynn, Anne Murray and Bonnie Raitt.”
‘Miss Amy’s’ interactive fitness music was born with the birth of her premature son who spent three months in neonatal care. Now, with her son being a thriving Eagle Scout and university Physics student Amy is embracing a genre of music that is not unfamiliar to her. Amy previously released an Americana band project called ‘Off The Map With Miss Amy’ that received accolades such as: "Perfect for a long drive or a journey into the adult mind!" -(The Hollywood Reporter) and "An album of holistic-themed, smoking, country-tinged tunes!" -(WDVR). It included players such as saxophonist Jim Horn, known for performing with all of the Beatles along with numerous other top artists, and Pedal Steel Guitarist Pat Severs, a staple at the Grand Ole Opry who performs regularly with top Nashville greats.
Amy Otey’s latest release ‘Lights Are Always On in Nashville’ was produced by the legendary Award-Winning Nashville producer Doc Holiday, and is available from all major digital record distributors.
