Shawnee Peak Open for Skiing in Maine for the 2014 Ski Season
Shawnee Peak, the skiing in Maine resort that has welcomed friends and families for more than 77 years.
Bridgton, ME, January 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Shawnee Peak (www.shawneepeak.com), the skiing in Maine resort that has welcomed friends and families for more than 77 years, opened for the 2014-2015 season on December 6.
This year the family skiing in Maine resort, in addition to its 40 + trails and six gladed areas, has opened a new triple beginner chair and has added significantly to its snow making capabilities with three new fan guns and 40 new low-e tower guns. That gives the resort snow making covering 98 percent of the terrain.
“We’re really proud of our snow making capabilities,” said Rachel Wilkinson, who works at Shawnee Peak. “Our crews work hard to make sure everyone gets the best skiing,” she said. Depending on conditions our crews do what we call a ‘Moon Groom.’ It makes for better night skiing,” she explained.
Shawnee Peak has offered the most night skiing in Maine for the past 25 years with 19 trails and two terrain parks serviced by four lifts. Night skiing in Maine happens six nights each week, Monday through Saturday, starting at 3:30 pm.
