Career Step Launches Two New Career Training Programs
Career Step has released two new, online career training programs: Health Information Technology and Medical Office Manager, expanding Career Step’s direct-to-student offerings to nine career programs.
Provo, UT, January 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, has released two new, online career training programs: Health Information Technology and Medical Office Manager. These new programs expand Career Step’s direct-to-student offerings to nine career programs.
“We are constantly working to expand our offerings for students and provide them more options as they consider the decision to go back to school,” said Career Step CEO Steve Tober. “These new programs prepare students to work with electronic health records (EHR) software in various capacities—on the technical side with our Health Information Technology course and on the office management side with our
Medical Office Manager course. With healthcare’s transition to electronic records, these EHR software skills are becoming increasingly important within a number of professional healthcare positions.”
With healthcare’s increasing reliance on various technologies, health information technology is a growing field that includes the professionals who handle facilities’ various IT needs. Career Step’s Health Information Technology program prepares students to install and maintain electronic health record systems, work as part of an internal health IT team and provide technical support to employees throughout a healthcare facility. The course includes 584 hours of curriculum and prepares students to earn the A+ credential offered by the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) as well as the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) credentials offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
The new Medical Office Manager course prepares students to handle and oversee the day-to-day administration and billing activities of a medical practice. Students gain hands-on experience with government-certified ezEMRx EHR software as well as industry-standard medical billing forms and Medisoft software. They will also learn about office administration, healthcare processes and medical billing. The course includes 315 hours of curriculum, and students graduate prepared to earn the NHA’s CMAA and CEHRS credentials.
“Healthcare, and the economy in general, are constantly changing and evolving, and our goal is to continually develop training programs that prepare our students for the current needs of the industry and job market,” said Career Step Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing, Ryan Ewer. “We are very excited to have these new courses now available to all of our students.”
