The Denver Woman's Press Club Hosts Annual Unknown Writers Contest

Denver, CO, January 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In the spring of 2015, the Denver Woman’s Press Club will recognize the winners of the Unknown Writers Contest, an annual contest that sheds light on unpublished writers in the categories of short-form fiction, non-fiction essays and poetry. Entries are now being accepted until February 17, 2015.

All entry materials are kept strictly confidential. Entries are shown only to judges and committee chairs, although contest winners are invited to read excerpts from their work at each year’s awards banquet. The contest is open to both men and women who are Colorado residents, age 18 or older. Entrants must never have been professionally published. Contestants may not have won first place in prior year’s competitions.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: 1st place $125, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50. In addition, all entrants will receive detailed, written comments from professional writers who are members of the club.

More information about the contest and rules can also be found at DWPC's website.
