TEDx Speaker Launches Resume Writing Service for Midlife Job Seekers

Burlington, VT, January 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A freak accident in a German bathtub in 2011 changed the way Ann Zuccardy, writer and social media expert, perceives the world.
With no protocol for rehab from the resulting brain injury, Zuccardy made her own way. In the three and a half years since her injury, she has appeared on two TEDx stages, on podcasts and in numerous other venues writing and speaking about the ingenuity, creativity, resilience and reinvention that contributed to her ongoing recovery.
“I’ve had to make shifts in my professional goals to accommodate what I’ve learned and the limitations resulting from my injury,” Zuccardy says, “but I didn’t want to brand myself as a brain injury expert. So I decided to use my existing writing, social media marketing expertise and personal experience to brand myself as a midlife creative career re-inventor.” She adds, “I realized I preferred writing about people rather than things and Shift Smart Resume was born.”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and an AARP report on age discrimination, more than half of work force in the U.S. is over the age of 40. Zuccardy explains, “People are working longer than our parents’ generation did – reinventing their careers, starting businesses and changing jobs more frequently than ever before. They have vast work and life experience and many need a little help marketing themselves more effectively.”
Zuccardy specializes in personalized attention and customized social media training. She spends many hours on the professional networking site, LinkedIn, learning industry trends in her clients’ fields and helping them craft resumes and LinkedIn profiles that combine disparate work experiences into a cohesive personal branding document. Her training and coaching focuses on using LinkedIn as both a job search and marketing tool. Her goal is to help professionals stay relevant in the workforce while navigating changing digital landscapes.
