WNSC Receives Global Entrepreneurship Week "High Impact" Host Award
Oswestry, United Kingdom, January 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) has recently been awarded the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) ‘High Impact’ Host Award, the ‘High Impact’ Host Award is awarded to GEW participants who fulfil four out of six criteria, those criteria are; promote the GEW campaign; provide practical support; provide role models; encourage a global outlook; actively promote the campaign; develop enterprise capabilities and measure the effect.
Sarah Probert, WNSC’s Business Curriculum Leader, was pleased with the College being awarded the ‘High Impact’ Host Award, saying ‘I am incredibly grateful to the business community of Shropshire for their continued support and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Gibson, Director of Imagematch; Heather Noble, Chair of the Oswestry Chamber of Commerce; Andrew Charman, Freelance Motoring Journalist and WNSC Staff who gave talks about their role and specialisations; Andy Pugh, Director of Finance; Imran Khan, Human Resources Manager and Lucy Evans; Marketing Manager.’
The GEW handshake selfie featured on Twitter all over the world, Sarah took team handshake selfies during each session and one of the pictures made it to the GEW USA Twitter feed.
Sarah added, ‘Here at WNSC we are passionate about our students having an outstanding learning experience and that this is grounded in the real business environment. Having a series of guest speakers from such varying and exciting professions to talk to students is so valuable and to receive recognition on a national and international level is fantastic. I am extremely proud of what the students have achieved by organising this event and can’t wait to start the next project.’
