Fruition Technology Labs, Houston Technology Center, Invent-It-2day™ Co-Host First Lean Invention Workshop in Houston Jan. 31

Houston, TX, January 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Fruition Technology Labs, Houston Technology Center and Invent-It-2day™ are proud to co-host the first Lean Invention™pat.pend. Workshop for inventors and innovators on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Houston Technology Center. During the interactive and collaborative event, aspiring techpreneurs will learn about and actively apply the Lean Invention method to help them take the first and often overlooked step to building a startup business. Registration is now available through Jan. 31 at http://bit.ly/LeanInvention.

“Our experienced team of entrepreneurs, business mentors and experts will show inventors how to write and file provisional patents, collaborate with others, create prototypes and introduce their products to the marketplace via crowdfunding,” explains Conley Giles, the mastermind behind Lean Invention and the founder of the Invent-It-2day workshop series, based in Austin. “The goal is to minimize the risk and resources involved in developing an idea into a product from the very beginning, the conceptual stage, while strategically developing your intellectual property assets.”

A seasoned entrepreneur and inventor, Giles saw that this key step was missing from most inventors’ startup strategies. He developed the Lean Invention method as a complement to other Lean business methods such as Lean Startup, which streamlines the traditional approach to creating and managing startups, and Lean Manufacturing, which streamlines the manufacturing process of an established product. After a business has completed the Lean Invention process, inventors can then decide whether to license their idea, sell it, start a business (the startup route) or abandon it.

“Houston has a wealth of tech ideas just brewing beneath the surface,” says Wes Okeke, founder of startup incubator Fruition Technology Labs in Houston. “We hope this workshop will be the first steady step for these innovators to start seeing their idea grow and to move towards getting it into the marketplace.”

Early bird pricing is $99 now through Jan. 25, after which registration will be $124 through Jan. 31. The workshop will also include a working lunch and networking happy hour for all attendees. To learn more and to register for the Lean Invention Workshop, visit http://bit.ly/LeanInvention.
