Cortina FIS-Ski Event Beckons CrescoCap Sponsored Team Larisa
The Italian resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo will host the women's World Cup downhill event cancelled last weekend at Bad Kleinkirchheim in Austria because of strong winds.
London, United Kingdom, January 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- As training begins for the fourth downhill of the season on Thursday, January 15th 2015, athletes are preparing for a weekend of competitive racing as confirmed by the International Ski Federation (FIS) on Tuesday. The cancelled Bad Kleinkirchheim downhill event is scheduled to begin Friday morning ahead of two FIS Ski World Cup events hosted by Cortina d'Ampezzo, the women’s downhill on Saturday and Super-G slalom on Sunday. Following the disappointment of the cancelled races in Austria, CrescoCap’s sponsored skier Larisa Yurkiw left for the Italian dolomites knowing that strong performances at the two downhill races scheduled for the end of this week, will lift her higher up the leader board where she currently stands on joint-12th position.
“Competing in the FIS Ski World Cup circuit definitely brings you to some of the best ski resorts and venues in the world, and the downhill and Super-G events that I specialise in are hosted in seven different countries. This means a lot of traveling though between North America and Europe during the 4 month season, and events can be cancelled like what we experience last week. Having a strong team behind me makes all the difference so I can focus on my races and training, without the frustrations or concerns on dealing with re-scheduling or funding. The sponsors are an important aspect here so I am really pleased to have the continued support from CrescoCap for Team Larisa this season,” said Larisa to Derek Mayne the founder of Cresco Capital Management (UK) Limited when discussing her preparations for a full 3 days of competitive skiing.
Since establishing Team Larisa in 2013 the alpine specialist successfully earned her place at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games and continues to compete at an international level. Contributing towards the goals of the team as a major sponsor, CrescoCap wishes Larisa the best of luck in Cortina.
