10th Brunel Lecture in Kolkata to be Held at the Narula Institute of Technology

Kolkata, India, January 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The prestigious 10th Brunel Lecture in Kolkata will be held at the seminar hall of the Narula Institute of Technology on 21st January, 2015, at 4:30pm. Mr. Duncan Gibb, General Manager of Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), New Zealand, will deliver the lecture on the topic "Collectively we are stronger — Engineers generating collaborative solutions to strengthen community resilience post-disaster."
The lecture describes an award-winning post-disaster collaborative model of the SCIRT team, designed by engineers and organizational specialists, to meet the horizontal infrastructural challenges created by a series of devastating earthquakes that struck Christchurch in 2010 and 2011.
A unique collaborative public-private partnership created to rebuild infrastructure of Christchurch, SCIRT has grown into a strong team of 2000 members. The team is visible on over 150 project sites in Christchurch.
Mr. Gibb has been into civil engineering for 30 years and has delivered many infrastructure projects through collaborative high-performance team organization structure. In 2013, he was appointed as the 10th Brunel International Lecturer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
