Podiatrist Helping Residents to Start the Year Off on the Right Foot
New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center in Oradell is helping Bergen County residents to start their year off on the right foot by partnering with area gyms.
Oradell, NJ, January 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center in Oradell has made it their goal to help Bergen County residents start their year off on the right foot. Especially after the holiday season, many individuals notice the effects of recent weight gain on their feet.
According to podiatrist Dr. Dan Margolin of New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center, recent weight gain can become a concern. In a random sampling, about 50 percent of patients that were experiencing heel pain had recently gained 20 pounds or greater. Additional weight places excessive pressure on the body’s supporting structure, the feet, therefore, it is important to maintain an appropriate weight for proper foot health.
As a result, New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center has partnered with Carve Your Body in Emerson, Core Fitness in Closter, Faustini’s Institute of Martial Arts and Fitness in Oradell and Title Boxing Club in Rivervale to help combat holiday weight gain. Throughout the month of January, they will be educating gym goers on how to maintain proper foot health during workouts.
On Thursday, January 29 at 6:00 pm they will be hosting an educational workshop at their practice with fitness trainer Gary Schulman from Faustini’s Institute of Martial Arts and Fitness entitled Why Kettlebells? Attendees will learn how the “cannonball with handles” combines cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training to reduce inflammation and improve body composition.
New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center is also offering free trial gym passes to anyone who makes an appointment to see one of their doctors for foot pain. To make an appointment or attend the workshop, call 201-261-9445. They are located in Oradell at 550 Kinderkamack Road.
