Schratter Foods Inc. Acquired from France-Based Groupe Bongrain

Fairfield, NJ, January 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Schatter Foods Inc. announced today that it has been acquired from Groupe Bongrain as the result of a joint deal between ECB-USA and Voss Enterprises effective January 1, 2015. The acquisition includes three business units of Schatter Foods: specialty cheese and deli products importer and distributor, Anco Fine Cheese; the cheese conversion business of Cognati Cheese Company; and the ship chandling business of Corman Ship Supplies. Excluded from the new deal are all brands owned by France-based Groupe Bongrain, whose specialty cheese products will now be marketed under a new entity including its well-known Alouette brand.

ECB-USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of French Groupe Blandin, an experienced, well established distribution leader to the trade in various product categories based in the French Antilles and Guyana. It is owned jointly by brothers Bruno, Claude and Patrick Blandin. VOSS Enterprises, Inc. is owned by Alain Voss, which has interests in specialty cheese, bakery, chocolate and confection businesses.

The newly formed company will be led by Alain Voss and Claude Blandin. Alain Voss, who has been leading Schratter Foods since its inception over 20 years ago will remain its President and CEO, while also becoming the company's Chairman. Claude Blandin, Co-owner and President of Groupe Blandin will assume the positions of Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President with a particular focus on technology as well as external and strategic development.
