Denver Seminary Opens Extension Campus in the Washington DC Area
Landover, MD, January 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Because of their commitment to making theological education available to a broader spectrum of God’s people, Denver Seminary responded to requests to bring their degree programs to the nation’s capital.

Beginning this spring 2015, Denver Seminary will offer a Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Leadership, and Graduate Certificate in Biblical and Theological Studies at First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Landover, Maryland.

With approval from The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and the state of Maryland, and pending approval from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Denver Seminary is pleased to offer these degree programs in an accessible and adaptable format. Through this flexible online and on-campus delivery system, the new campus makes seminary education available to working adults in the Washington DC area. Students will be offered evening, weekend intensive, and online class options allowing them to pursue their degrees full or part-time. These programs provide students with the opportunity to gain the practical leadership knowledge, education, and experience needed for ministry, along with a strong theological and biblical foundation.

Dr. Doug Fombelle, director of extension education for Denver Seminary, states, “If there was ever a time when the world needed high-quality, well-prepared Christian leaders, it is now. The new Denver Seminary campus will provide the time, the space, and the instructors for men and women in the Mid-Atlantic Region to prepare to become the leaders God has called them to be so they can serve churches and ministries to the glory of God.”

The Seminary is honored and excited to partner with First Baptist Church of Glenarden for this Washington DC campus initiative. On-campus classes will be hosted in their Ministry Center. The widely known and growing church was established in 1917, and the impact of its ministry reaches locally, nationally, and internationally. Pastored by Reverend John K. Jenkins Sr., the church exists to develop dynamic disciples through discipleship and duplication. Currently the church sees attendance of over 10,000 individuals every weekend.

Regarding the partnership, Pastor Jenkins states, “I, along with the leadership and church family of First Baptist of Glenarden, am excited to be a host site for Denver Seminary. Denver Seminary will bring powerful and practical preparation for those who are hungry for training to advance their lives and fulfill God's purpose for their lives.”
