Bright Future for Butterfly Aurora Cup
Wilson, NC, January 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- As the last matches were played and clean-up began at 2015 Butterfly Aurora Cup, tireless tournament director Swavek Lorenc hurriedly gave out awards to winners and thanked players for coming to the event. The 2nd Butterfly Aurora Cup had come to a close, and players were already eagerly awaiting next year’s event. All of those who had come to participate or spectate the the 4-star USATT sanctioned event praised the on-time starts, rubberized grippy floors, professional atmosphere and quality trophies. Many even compared it to other more established tournaments such as the Butterfly Badger Open or the 5-star US Open for its playing conditions and professionalism.
Swavek gave credit to his amazing crew and volunteers who helped with everything from control desk operations to set up/tear down. He credits Zach Moy, Cecilia Navata, Evelyn Wisniewski, Andrew Moy, Joe Dault, and Will Zitske who operated the control desk with such efficiency and experience that little guidance was needed. Set up and tear down of the 35+ tables and barriers for the event was not an easy task in January Chicago area weather, but more than 10 volunteers including Sean Pjesky, Adam Koziel, John Brandt, Jim Brandt, Meinhard Korte, Arcort Nresh, Tim Szot, Josh Szot and many others made the process as seamless as possible.
Swavek has big plans for next year’s event including reorganizing the schedule of events to accommodate more entries, expanding the event to 3 days and the Open Singles award presented by the major of Aurora. Now that the tournament has established momentum, Swavek is eagerly searching for more sponsors to increase prize money and attract players from across the US (especially the West Coast). Humility, professionalism and a quality experience are key values for the tournament which will be successful for years to come. For other tournaments directors who are considering organizing their first 4-star event, Swavek suggests starting small and anticipating any concerns a player could have and then addressing those concerns before the tournament even begins.
The future for the Butterfly Aurora Cup is bright and limitless.
