Dominique Hussey is the Bennett Jones LLP Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group leader with a broad range of IP, regulatory and branding experience, including extensive experience litigating patents under the Patented Medicines (NOC) Regulations. Her practice involves trademark prosecution, brand portfolio management, and all aspects of IP litigation. In addition to counseling on a range of trademark, patent and copyright issues, Dominique advises on advertising, marketing, packaging, labeling, and regulatory matters, most often pertaining to food, drugs, cosmetics, and telecommunications technology. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. If approved, the agreement will become effective in 2016. Almost all tariffs between the two parties will be eliminated.
CETA covers many fields. One bulletin addresses provisions relating to patent law and data protection, addressing issues such as patent term restoration for pharmaceutical products other than those already approved and equivalent and effective rights of appeal for judicial decisions under the Patented Medicines Regulations among others.
