New Website Turns Used Golf Clubs Into Money for Charities

Houston, TX, November 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- For every donated golf club that Trade In Golf receives, they will make a financial donation to a charity for the trade-in value of the golf club. The trade-in value is what you can expect to receive in store credit if you had traded in the club at a golf shop. Trade In Golf is also offering this service as a fund raiser for golf tournaments. Used golf clubs can be collected from players during a tournament and then shipped to Trade In Golf. Once the golf clubs are received and inspected, the company releases a check to the charity benefiting from the tournament.

This new website offers another option for golfers looking to get some value out of their old clubs. Golfers often trade their used clubs for store credit at local golf shops, or donate the clubs for use at junior golf programs.

“We thought people would be just as inclined to donate their old clubs as they would be to trade them in”, said Robert Heckeroth, President of Trade In Golf LLC. “The problem is that non-golf related charities have no use for golf clubs, so we simply pay the charity for the value of the club and add it to our inventory”.

DonateGolfClubs.com is the first website to offer this kind of service, although, there are several sites that offer to pay individuals cash for their golf clubs. “Golfers have a few options when trading in their old clubs, it’s just important that those clubs don’t collect dust in the garage when there’s a charity that could benefit from their value”, said David Altemus, the 2007 Southern Texas PGA Golf Professional of the Year.

Trade In Golf LLC is a Houston based company that specializes in used golf club sales and liquidations. Trade In Golf’s president, Robert Heckeroth, is also a student at the University of Houston’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
