Spring Lambing Day 2015
Oswestry, United Kingdom, February 05, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Sunday 22nd March, the Walford Campus of Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) will be opening its doors to the public for the annual Spring Lambing Day. It is a fun day for all the family; you can see the new-born lambs, you may even see one being born!
The Walford Campus has over 90 different species of animal ranging from a 275 strong dairy herd to Alpacas, Meerkats and Chinchillas. You will have an opportunity to see all of the animals and watch or take part in fun activities such as Clay Pigeon Shooting, Dog Agility Display, a Treasure Hunt, Vintage Machinery Display and much, much more. New for 2015 we have the fantastic British Horseball Association doing a display; Horseball is like a combination of polo, rugby and basketball and is one of the ten disciplines officially recognised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.
The R.D. Park Dairy will enable visitors to see the Fullwood Merlin, a robotic milking machine; milking cows throughout the day in addition, there are timed talks taking place in the new Herringbone milking parlour. There is also face painting, Superzorbs and stalls as well as lots of places to eat, including a Hog Roast.
Their first lambs are expected at the end of February, where students will take shifts to aid farm staff in providing 24 hour round the clock cover for the sheep and new born lambs. There will be plenty of lambs to see by Sunday 22nd March.
