Bioo Scientific Launches Kit Offering Robust, Automation-Friendly cfDNA Isolation

Austin, TX, February 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Today Bioo Scientific announced the release of the NextPrep-Mag™ cfDNA Isolation Kit, an automation friendly, magnetic bead-based kit designed to extract DNA from cell free biological fluids such as blood plasma using a magnetic bead format. The rapid procedure can be completed in only 25 minutes and does not require a vacuum manifold. Using the kit, sufficient cfDNA is recovered from only 0.6 mL of plasma to allow robust production of DNA-Seq libraries, even from the relatively low amounts of cfDNA present in plasma of healthy donors.

The cfDNA isolated using this kit can be used for applications including circulating fetal DNA studies and cancer diagnostic related liquid biopsy studies using methods such as PCR and next generation sequencing. Recently, a number of studies have been published demonstrating that sequencing of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) can provide clinically useful information for diagnosis and monitoring of treatment for cancer patients. Additionally, the discovery of circulating fetal DNA in the maternal circulation and the development of advanced sequencing technologies are facilitating noninvasive prenatal testing, NIPT.

Built with usability in mind, the NextPrep-Mag cfDNA Isolation Kit is readily automatable for high throughput liquid biopsy or circulating fetal DNA studies.
