Plano, TX, February 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The hospitality and travel industry has witnessed phenomenal growth in the last few years on a global scale. With emergence of mobility, hospitality & travel companies are utilizing mobile apps to provide enhanced services to their customers. However, these companies are also facing challenges in ensuring app quality due to various factors such as explosion of devices, different OS versions, lack of testing infrastructure; which lead to frequent uninstalls, negative reviews resulting in losses in revenue, brand value and depleting investors’ faith.

Considering these concerns, Software Assurance, LLC recently conducted a study comprising 100+ mobile applications, including 40+ from Hospitality and Travel Industry. The results have been shocking to a certain extent. The objective of this study was to highlight the critical factors impacting business of mobile apps due to lack of quality and, suggest ways to address them proactively.

As per the observations, the "Cumulative Quality Score" of apps tested was 5/10, which is "Below Average. This calls for an urgent improvement to the apps, in terms of performance, compatibility, user experience and security, to meet the growing customer demands. 52 % of tested apps were found Incompatible and didn’t work well on different mobile devices, OS versions, screen sizes and resolutions.

Security has emerged the biggest concern as nearly 85% of tested apps need enhancements to prevent potential security threats such as fraudulent transactions, identity theft, password leaks, etc. Consistent performance of app across different conditions is essential and, it was observed that around 42% of tested apps did not performed well due to high load time, high CPU/battery/memory consumptions and poor database connectivity. An effective & easy user interface plays pivot role in providing seamless user experience. As per the observations, around 54% of apps need to get improved for enhanced usability quotient in terms of optimized navigation, graphics, input mechanism etc.

While commenting on the study, Ram Garg (Founder and CEO - Software Assurance, LLC) said, “The hospitality & travel companies have adopted mobility as a key channel to provide improved services.
