YMT Recruits Women Small Business Owners for ScaleUp America Entrepreneurial Training, One of Only Eight Programs in the U.S.

Columbus, OH, February 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Today, Your Management Team, Inc. (YMT), a small business consulting firm, announced it’s recruiting women small-business owners throughout Ohio to apply for the second cohort of the Entrepreneur Exchange Program. This program is fully funded by the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) ScaleUp America initiative. YMT secured one of just eight contracts awarded in the U.S., and one of only two awarded in the Midwest.

ScaleUp America builds on the SBA’s core mission, which is delivering intensive assistance to established, high-potential entrepreneurs whose businesses are primed for growth beyond the start-up or early business stages.

“We’re looking for the brightest entrepreneurs in Ohio to participate in the Entrepreneur Exchange Program,” said Mary McCarthy, president, YMT. “It’s an honor to be one of only eight organizations in the entire nation to provide this dynamic program, which provides for companies with the desire to grow beyond the early stages. It’s truly a unique opportunity for selected participants to supercharge the growth of their businesses. The only investment they’re asked to make is their time.”

The flagship class of the Entrepreneur Exchange Program kicked off in Jan. comprised of both male and female business owners. However, for the mid-Feb. cohort, women small business owners will be the primary target. Those with an annual gross revenue between $150,000 to $750,000 and a minimum of two years in business are encouraged to apply.

“92 percent of new jobs come from the expansion of existing businesses,” said Maria Contreras-Sweet, administrator, Small Business Administration (SBA). "We’re bringing our successful entrepreneurship education program to underserved communities across the country that will benefit from intensive SBA support."

While Ohio ranks 11th among the 50 states for small business friendliness[i], the support structure is still lacking. “There are a lot of entrepreneurs wanting to start a business in Ohio,” McCarthy continued. “Many of them are struggling to grow. The SBA’s ScaleUp America initiative brings together the necessary resources and training to kick their business growth up a notch.”
