SGS Announces China Updated National Food Safety Standard GB 2760 for Uses of Food Additives
An update of the national food safety standard for uses of food additives (GB 2760-2014) has been issued by the People’s Republic of China National Health and Family Planning Commission in the No. 21st official announcement on 31 December 2014.
Shanghai, China, February 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Updated China Food Safety Standard GB 2760
This updated standard will become effective on 25 May 2015 and replace the previous version GB 2760-2011. The outdated standard will be abolished at the same time.
The updated GB 2760 specifies the principles for application of food additives, allowed food additive varieties, scope of application, and maximum level or residue levels.
Additionally the new standard now includes food additives from 14 supplement documents published from 2010 to 2014.
GB 2760-2014 and Food Additives
GB 2760-2014 revises carry-over principles, adjusts the food classification system and the usage regulations for food additives, adds index to provisions for application of food additives and deletes the list of chewing gum bases and ingredients.
Information on the use of nutritional fortification substances in foods and of chewing gum bases as well as ingredients are given in GB 14880-2012 and GB 29987-2014 respectively.
