Professional Standards Institute Announces New Program Management Certification
After two years of research and development, Professional Standards Institute, established in 1997, has released a new certification program series in the area of Program Management. The new series offers three levels of certification: associate (entry level), senior, and master. At the senior and master levels of certification, a candidate can earn one of three specializations and one of two endorsements.

After two years of research and development, Professional Standards Institute, established in 1997, has released a new certification program series in the area of Program Management. The new certification series offers three levels of certification starting with the entry level certification Associate Program Coordinator. It is recommended that candidates have at least two years experience prior to taking the certification test. The next certification level is the Senior Program Manager. It is an advanced level certification and it is recommended that candidates have five years of experience. The highest level certification is the Master Program Administrator. It is for seasoned professionals who have achieved a broad knowledge and mastery in the Program Management and Administration with a recommendation of at least 10 years of experience.
The certification tests are constructed to measure "Real World" expertise and knowledge. The certification test covers various subject os program management to include, organization program design and planning, program budgeting and financial management, program management concepts, processes, and metrics, program management tools and techniques, and more.
At the senior and master levels of certification, a candidate can earn one of three specializations. These include information technology, project portfolio management, and lean processes and systems. In addition, a candidate can earn one of two endorsements, to include educator/trainer and consultant.
