The Fringe Foundation Begins Accepting Grants from Social Justice Organizations

Madison, CT, February 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Fringe Foundation (TFF) is pleased to announce that it has begun accepting grant applications from social justice organizations throughout the United States. TFF is a new 501(c)(3) non-profit, private grant-maker with a mission to advance social and economic justice by supporting community-run organizations. TFF believes that collective action through community organizing is the best way to secure lasting social change because it empowers the people most directly affected by injustice.

Applicants must have 501(c)(3) status, or be sponsored by organizations with 501(c)(3) status, and must have a budget of under $1,000,000. Candidates should work within at least two of TFF’s current funding categories: Economic Justice; Education Justice; Civil Rights Justice; Gender and Sexuality Justice; Immigrant Justice; and Art for Justice. The Fringe Foundation encourages applicants who address the root causes of injustice and creates spaces for discussing intersections between different forms of inequality.

The Fringe Foundation will begin reviewing applications on May 1, 2015, and will notify grantees by early June. Community organizations in under-funded regions of the country are encouraged to apply. Grants of $20,000 will be awarded to a small selection of partners. Please share this news to groups whose work fits our mission.
