Triangle Land Conservancy Presents Wild Ideas for Getting Outside

Triangle Land Conservancy presents Wild Ideas for Getting Outside, a free public event aimed at encouraging everyone to get outside in nature and play, on March 3, 2015 at The Frontier in Research Triangle Park.

Durham, NC, February 21, 2015 --(PR.com)-- It may still be cold outside, but spring is coming and so is Triangle Land Conservancy’s free Wild Ideas for Getting Outside program. Local outdoor adventurers will share their tips, tricks, and wildest outdoor exploits in the Triangle through rapid-fire imagery and storytelling on Tuesday, March 3rd at The Frontier, Research Triangle Park’s new innovation space.

Registration and drinks start at 5:15 and at 5:45pm, Joe Miller, author, Chief Exploration Officer of GetGoingNC.com and former News and Observer Outdoor reporter, will kick off the stories. Following the presentations and a Q&A, participants can enjoy free food by Parizade, beer donated by Lonerider Brewing Company, and non-alcoholic drinks during an Outdoor Expo. Many organizations will be on hand to provide information about the different outdoor activities available in the Triangle. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for outings on Saturday, March 7th when Wild Ideas Goes Outside at locations across the Triangle, including TLC’s public preserves. This is a free event, but please register in advance at www.triangleland.org.

“People think the Triangle is a great place to live because of its proximity to adventure at the coast and in the mountains, but you can find great adventure right out your back door,” shares expert host Joe Miller. “There’s paddling (including whitewater on the Haw River), a killer greenway system and about 200 miles of natural surface trail offering solid hiking, trail running and mountain biking. You don’t find many urban areas offering so much immediate gratification.”

Triangle Land Conservancy’s Wild Ideas provides a dynamic, interactive venue for the community to share their innovative ideas for safeguarding clean water, protecting natural habitats, supporting local farms and food, and connecting people with nature. The Wild Ideas series premiered on Oct 22, 2014 with Feeding the Triangle: Increasing Access to Fresh Farms and Foods, engaging the community in a conversation focused on solving fresh food access challenges. More than 120 people attended and there was energetic audience participation during and after the program. TLC’s Wild Ideas series is generously sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina with additional support for this event from Great Outdoor Provision Company.
