Sweet Treat Fan Favorite Chamoy City Limits is Skipping the Sophomore Slump

After a bold and successful freshman year under their belt, Ana Fernandez and Chamoy City Limits look to skip the usual sophomore slump and dominate the crowded San Antonio frozen treat landscape.

San Antonio, TX, February 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Shaved ice truck Chamoy City Limits' entrance onto the San Antonio food truck scene was bold, and its impact was felt immediately. Having already turned up on many food critics' "best of" lists for their inventive take on traditional Texas chili with her Institute of Chili food truck, artist and owner Ana Fernandez and her team of "raspadoras" launched Chamoy City Limits on March 1, 2014 with an outrageous menu of hand-crafted chili and fruit syrups and house-made chamoy - that thick, fruity, kind-of-sweet, kind-of-sour, pucker-inducing condiment that has since found its way onto food and cocktail menus coast to coast. In their freshman year, Ana and crew even made it to the number one spot in WOAI-TV's viewer's poll of the Alamo City's best raspa, with frozen concoctions like their Komodo Dragon, Piccadilly Circus, and Diablito.

So, what do they do for an encore? For one thing, they'll skip the usual sophomore slump, thank you very much. "Our foot has been pedal to the metal, even during the winter off season. We have no intention of slowing down," says Ana. The truck will unveil a brand new line of exclusive house-made syrups to dress their frosty treats.

Of course, lovers of San Antonio staples like mangonadas and rainbow raspas will always be able to get their fix at Chamoy City Limits. "We love the traditional flavors of south Texas. They inspire us, and of course, as the modern day chili queens, we honor them. But we're also a team of mavericks. Ana is a true artist, and she brings that sensibility to everything she does. So our team is always inventing, always innovating," says the company's menu consultant and marketing manager, Patricia Llanes. "We want to give our customers an experience they can't get anywhere else, and that they can't even make themselves." The Chamoy crew has been busy building unique flavor profiles, layering flavors, textures, even colors.

When asked what drives their innovative spirit, Ana says simply, "We're so grateful for the success we've achieved in 2014. San Antonio has been good to us, and we can't wait to share our new line of treats with our hometown."

Chamoy City Limits will roll out their new flavor line throughout the spring at various locations throughout San Antonio.
