Respite Care Cruise Benefits Alzheimer’s Association
Cruises for Causes will be hosting a Respite Care Cruise to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
Gastonia, NC, February 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Cruises For Causes has created the inaugural Respite Care Cruise™ which will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
"I have owned a home care agency since 2005. Since that time, a significant amount of my clients have suffered from Alzheimer’s. I have gotten so close to the clients and their families, I felt that something should be done for them,” said Gregory Pippins, Owner of TheraCare Health & Wellness. “I thought a fundraising cruise for Alzheimer’s might be just one way I could give back. Therefore, I teamed-up with the folks at Cruises For Causes.”
"I knew Cruises for Causes had successfully produced many cruises such as the Harmonies At Sea Gospel™ Cruise so I knew they were proven in their work of giving back,” Pippins continued. “Ten percent of the base cabin price, per person, will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. There will also be cabins donated to caregivers and those who suffer from Alzheimer’s. The full cruise, port charges and taxes will be paid for them.”
“Thank goodness for the recent movie, Still Alice, which brings Alzheimer’s to the forefront,” Pippins said.
The Respite Care Cruise™ will set sail aboard the Norwegian Sky on a 4-day, 3-night Bahamas itinerary leaving from Miami, Florida; Grand Cayman, Bahamas; Nassau, Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay and back to Miami, Florida from November 9 – November 13, 2015.
Cruises for Causes will have special guest speakers, activities, and gift giveaways along with educational seminars onboard. Vendors and sponsors are welcomed to present new and improved ways of working with people who have Alzheimer's.
