A Stroke Survivor Introduces Inspirational Calendar
La Reina, a stroke survivor, donates 25 cent from each calendar to the National Stroke Association.
Chicago, IL, November 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- La Reina, a stroke survivor, has created an Inspirational Calendar entitled “Dreaming Into Reality” Behind each major project you will find a person that has been touched in some way by an issue that changed their life and La Reina is no different. Her first project will be published on Lulu.com the online market place for digital content.
As a Survivor she could not allow herself to be a victim to this illness so with the help of many friends and family members she was able to make her dream a reality. What also makes this project so important is the .25 cent donation from the sale of each Inspirational Calendar that will be given to the National Stroke Association (N.S.A.). Their monthly magazine Stroke Connection inspired her as she read the many stories of other stroke survivors and their caregivers.
“Dreaming Into Reality” took two years to complete and was inspired from the many people she met who had survived a stroke. This project is more than a calendar, it is filled with great affirmations that was written by La Reina to help her get through some of her bad days. It is her hope that people will find their inner strength to continue their dreams.
Stroke is an illness that many people still don’t understand and thus equate it with being old. The truth is it can hit anyone at any age. Studies show that stroke is the third leading cause of death in America. This illness can rob a person of the use of their limbs, precious memories, speech and their life. Some people are left trapped in their bodies shell but still have a dream. If we can understand this illness better, we might be able to help others and instill in them a will to fight this sometimes crippling illness.
Ask yourself “What would I do if this illness hit me or my family?” “Will I be financial capable to care for myself or my family?” “What if I can’t go back to work?” It is predicted that by the year 2050 we will have a 2.2 trillion dollar deficit and more than half of that deficit will come from people under the age of 65. We must begin to take this illness seriously if we ever hope to make a difference.
We all have a survivor living deep inside of us and “Dreaming Into Reality” will bring a new face to this illness, by making more people Aware, Empowered, and Educated one calendar at a time. Thanks to the many people who believed in this project and Lulu for helping La Reina share her Dream.
