SANS SCOLT Luncheon Celebrates 50 Years of Leadership to Promote Language Education
North Branford, CT, March 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The SANS Inc. SCOLT Leadership Luncheon takes place this week in Atlanta, GA, as part of the annual Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) and celebration of the 50th anniversary of the SCOLT organization. This event is an opportunity to develop connections and foster collaboration among leaders of the 14 state associations in the SCOLT region. Members from ACTFL, SCOLT, as well as state and district supervisors will participate in the program, which occurs on Thursday afternoon during the conference. The theme of the 2015 Leadership Luncheon is “Inspiring, Engaging and Transforming through Leadership."
SANS Inc. Software and Network Solutions, a leader in the development of instructional technologies for language learning, is the corporate sponsor for this event. “SANS is pleased to once again support SCOLT and the educational leaders that play an integral part in evolving language learning for the 21st century,” said SANS president Ron Remschel. “SANS would like to congratulate SCOLT on their 50th anniversary and applaud their dedication to preparing students to thrive in a global society.”
The event features presentations from Marty Abbott, Executive Director of ACTFL, and Dr. William Rivers, Executive Director of JNCL/NCLIS. The key discussion on leadership will be facilitated by SCOLT Board Director for Advocacy, Alisha Dawn Samples from Lexington District One in South Carolina.
The focus will be on how to grow as a leader in school, district, state, regional and national contexts and how to foster better communication within and across organizations. "Our 50th anniversary conference this year provides not only a unique opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished leading up to this occasion, but also how to propel our message about the importance of language education moving forward," said David Jahner, SCOLT Executive Director. "We continue to be grateful to SANS for the ongoing support of our leadership initiatives, which will result in stronger language programs across the Southeast." This marks the third consecutive year that SANS has been the corporate sponsor for this event.
