The Gateway Family YMCA Announces Membership Engagement Director

Elizabeth, NJ, March 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA – Elizabeth Branch has announced the addition of Leonardo Gonzalez, Membership Engagement Director of the branch, located at 135 Madison Avenue in Elizabeth, NJ. Leonardo comes to The Gateway Family YMCA with a membership-oriented background from the New York Sports Clubs and most recently, the Westfield YMCA. “I am excited to have Leo as our Membership Engagement Director because he’s very community oriented. I think his real strength will be that he’s interested in building community and services that will extend our position as the center of the health community in Elizabeth, particularly for families. He’s also very passionate about our members and social responsibility,” stated Bill Butler, Associate Executive Director. Leonardo’s educational background includes a Bachelors of Arts in Athletic Administration from St. John’s University.

The Gateway Family YMCA - Elizabeth Branch completed an $8 million renovation in 2013 and in an unprecedented move, lowered all membership rates. “I feel that the Elizabeth Branch has so much to offer this community,” stated Leonardo. Membership to the Elizabeth Branch provides access to a state of the art Health & Wellness Facility, includes a wellness orientation and many programs. In addition, members of the Elizabeth Branch are provided access to all 4 branches of The Gateway Family YMCA, located in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union.

Throughout Elizabeth and the surrounding communities, The Gateway Family YMCA provides lasting change and community impact. In addition to child care, summer camp, programs and membership, the Elizabeth Branch offers extensive housing and social services programs to support individuals in need of a safe environment, with opportunities to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
