L.M.A.O. Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Announces Premiere of "Murder At Thick City"
Dawna Lee Heising of Eye on Entertainment Plays Layla in Spicy Murder Mystery.
Los Angeles, CA, March 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The L.M.A.O. Murder Mystery Dinner Theater has announced the premier presentation of a new, comedic murder mystery play. Described as hilarious and “over-the-top,” the ‘who dunnit,’ “Murder at Thick City,” was written by renowned screenwriter/director, Gary Hardwick (“Deliver Us From Eva,” “The Brothers”) and directed by actress/producer, Nina Womack (“The Power of Love,” “Melrose Place,” “Pacific Palisades).
Nina is owner of “Queen of the Nile Enterprises” and “Transmedia 360.” She’s also an award winning actress, filmmaker and event planner. While pursuing her entertainment industry dreams, she has worked in related fields, such as marketing, advertising, fundraising, locations, real estate, catering and sales – all of which have given her the skills and insight to enhance her creativity. She wanted to produce a series of comedic murder mysteries so she approached her friend, Gary to write her vision. Nina plans to also make this piece into a movie.
The play takes place at a fictitious strip club, "Thick City." The club’s owner, Steve Stone, is a ruthless manager who has lascivious sex with the dancers and oppresses the others with a mixture of love and sentiment that creates both fear and dependence. Through it all, Stone keeps his friends close and his enemies even closer. However, it all backfires on him on his birthday, when, at his party, he chokes on something, keels over and dies. His close friends, employees and family members are all suspects. Everyone is invited to come and guess who the guilty party (or parties) is that silenced Steve Stone!
The cast of “Murder at Thick City” includes Patrick Faucette of Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” as Detective Monroe, and features:
Angel Aviles-McClinton as Gina;
Richie Lillard as Cinique;
Dawna Lee Heising as Layla;
NeiCe Knight-Preuitt as Gertie;
Nina Womack as Angela;
Rico McClinton as Damien; and
Shaun Gerardo as Taylor
The play will be presented during an early Sunday dinner from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge located at 3310 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood, CA 90304. Ticket prices are $40.00, which includes Dinner and the Show. The dinner menu includes baked chicken or fish, salad, sides, iced tea, water and dessert included. A full bar is also available.
